Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026
Data Engineering Daily ("we", "our", "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we
collect, use, store, share, and protect your information — including Google user data — when you use
our platform. This policy is written to comply with the
Google API Services User Data Policy and the
Google APIs Terms of Service.
1. Google User Data We Access
When you sign in with Google and use the HR Connect email feature, we request the following OAuth 2.0 scopes:
| Scope |
Data Accessed |
Why It Is Needed |
openid |
Unique Google user ID |
Identifies your account securely |
email |
Your Google account email address |
Creates and identifies your Data Engineering Daily account |
profile |
Your display name and profile picture URL |
Personalises the dashboard interface |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send |
Permission to send email on your behalf via Gmail |
Powers the HR Connect feature — emails are sent only when you explicitly trigger them |
We do not access, read, modify, or delete any messages in your Gmail inbox, drafts,
sent folder, or any other mailbox data beyond what is required to compose and dispatch outbound emails
that you initiate.
2. How We Use Your Google User Data
-
Authentication & Session Management: Your Google ID, name, email, and profile
picture are used solely to create and maintain your account session on Data Engineering Daily.
-
Email Sending (Gmail API): Your OAuth access token and refresh token are used
exclusively to send emails to HR contacts that you select and only when you click "Send"
or schedule a send within the HR Connect workflow. We never send emails autonomously without your
explicit instruction.
-
Campaign History: We record the emails you send (recipient, subject, timestamp,
delivery status) so you can track your outreach in your dashboard. This data is tied to your
account and is not used for advertising or analytics sold to third parties.
-
Service Improvement: Aggregated, anonymised usage metrics (e.g., number of emails
sent per day) may be used internally to monitor platform health. No Google user data is included
in these aggregations.
Google user data is used only for the purposes described above and as necessary to provide the
features you request. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose
unrelated to the service functionality.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or Google user data. Data may be
shared only in the following limited circumstances:
-
Infrastructure Providers: We use hosting and cloud infrastructure providers
(e.g., server hosting, database services) that process data on our behalf under strict
confidentiality agreements. These providers are not permitted to use your data for their own
purposes.
-
Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required to do so by applicable law,
court order, or governmental authority. We will notify you unless prohibited by law.
-
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets,
user data may be transferred. You will be notified of any such change and your rights will
be respected.
We do not share Google user data with any advertising networks, data brokers, or
analytics services that use personal data for purposes other than providing our service.
4. Data Storage & Security
-
Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers
is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS).
-
Encryption at Rest: OAuth tokens and sensitive account data are stored encrypted
in our database.
-
Access Controls: Access to production databases and user data is restricted to
authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis, protected by strong authentication.
-
Token Handling: OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are stored securely and
never logged in plain text. They are used only to call Google APIs on your behalf.
-
Security Reviews: We conduct periodic security reviews and apply patches promptly
when vulnerabilities are identified.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
-
Account Data: Your account information, OAuth tokens, and campaign history are
retained for as long as your account is active.
-
After Account Deletion: When you request account deletion, we will permanently
delete your profile, OAuth tokens, and associated campaign data within 30 days,
except where retention is required by law or for legitimate security purposes.
-
OAuth Token Revocation: You can revoke our access to your Google account at any
time by visiting
Google Account Permissions. Upon revocation, we will no longer be able to send emails on
your behalf and any stored tokens will become invalid.
-
Requesting Deletion: To request deletion of your account and all associated data,
email us at
contact@dataengineeringdaily.com
with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". We will process your request within 30 days
and confirm when deletion is complete.
6. Google API Limited Use Disclosure

Google API Services User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide or improve the user-facing features of Data Engineering Daily.

7. Children's Privacy

information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please
